Nutrition revolution

low-carb and high-protein, the proper carbohydrates, ketogenic diet, metabolic diet, south beach, … just to name a few have flooded the diet market in the last couple of years. They even revolutionised it. Every other study proved low-carb and high-protein diets to be more beneficial than the classic low-fat programmes.

Strength athlete knew some 50 years ago already, now the average consumer comes to realise it as well. Too much sugar causes weight gain and illness. Too much of rice, bread, pasta and saccharated drinks are actually providing our organism with too much energy.

Less and less exercising joins in. We don't manage to exercise sufficiently to burn the energy (carbohydrates). Therefore our body deposits, deposits, deposits…!

A wormwood in advance. Most of these nutrition types are just another diet promising the same old as all diets: "Loose body fat as much as possible as soon as possible without weight loss!" These are diets and these stay diets.

Perfected weight gain. The organism is put into a state of looming hunger and for millions of years it successfully fights back. Most people are familiar with famous terms like "pilot flame" and "yo-yo effect" and even worse: Almost everybody has experienced it himself. But we are on the right track.

According to my opinion it is time for a change. We urgently need more clarification! Steadily increasing numbers of overweight people in our society provides clear evidence that there is a lot more clarification to be done. Especially the numbers of overweight children is startling and a wave of disease expects us.

Nutrition could be that easy, if one considered just a couple of basic rules.

1.        Eat regularly 3-5 meals a day.

2.        Avoid fat burn blockers like sugar and ordinary carbohydrates. Sugar, white rice, white bread, pasta, potatoes and particularly saccharated drinks cause a heavy insulin production and diminish your fat burn success.

3.        Eat more dietary fibre. Dietary fibre cleanses the intestine where your immune system is located and it provides for a steady blood sugar level. Vegetables, fruit and legumes contain it. A straight tip: Add shredded linseed to your breakfast cereal.

4.        Eat more protein: Meat, fish, diary products, legumes, eggs and soya. Just the fact of the energy density of high-protein products makes your body spend more energy on digestion. Furthermore the protein supplies your body with amino acids vital for your immune system, hormones, enzymes, regeneration, skin, hair, fingernails, tissue and musculature.

5.        Drink sufficiently. Follow the rule of drinking 2.5 l of water or unsweetened tea a day. The body is in need of water for each and every cell. Your organism is able to manage with a clearly longer period without food, but without water it won't survive too long. Become slim and pretty by drinking.

All in all: Good luck with fitatall!

Sincerely, Peter Hinojal.
